Ragdoll soccer or ragdoll football?

It is the same game with two names. “Soccer” is the word most players in the United States and Canada search for, while “football” is used almost everywhere else. The rules here are football rules: two goals, one ball, kick it in.

This page runs the faster tuning: a lighter ball, a slightly quicker pitch and shorter goal celebrations. If you want the standard pace, the home page has it.

How scoring works

The whole pitch is playable. Goals sit at both ends with a mouth about waist-high on a ragdoll, so low shots along the ground are the easiest to convert and the hardest to save.

A goal is scored when the ball fully crosses the line inside the goal frame. The ball then resets to the centre circle and both players respawn. First to five wins.

The best way to strike the ball

Kicks are not aimed with a cursor. The game finds your nearest foot and sends the ball away from it, which means your body position is your aim.

To shoot low and hard, approach the ball from behind with a little run-up and kick as your front foot reaches it. To chip, jump first and kick at the top of the jump — the ball leaves your foot at a much steeper angle.

If the ball is bouncing, wait for it to come down. Kicking a ball at head height usually sends it straight up, which is how most own goals happen.

Play on mobile or on a laptop

The pitch scales to any screen. On mobile, the four buttons under the pitch map to run left, run right, jump and kick, and the layout stays reachable with one thumb.

On a laptop, the keyboard is enough. No mouse aiming is required at any point, which is why the game works just as well on a trackpad-only machine.
